Summary
Soda is too sick to sleep with and Darry comes home super late from work completely exhausted. He passes out on the couch without even taking off his shoes.
Ponyboy was still awake in the kitchen and watches it all happen. Going to sleep by himself was practically inviting the nightmares into his head, so that gave him only one choice really.
Oneshot where Ponyboy takes care of a sleepy Darry and they cuddle :3

This set off a chain of events leading to the deaths of three teen boys: Bob Sheldon, Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston. In this story, Ponyboy Curtis, preoccupied with a murder charge, never found the time to loathe his older brother, Darry Curtis Jr., for hitting him fifteen minutes prior to the attack.

So when that church appears over the horizon, consumed by flames, he wheels Buck’s car around, puts it in gear, and guns it.
Running ain’t new. Running’s all he’s ever known.
In the face of the church's blazing ruin, Dally does what he does best - protecting Johnny and Pony. Fires burn, lives are torched, and the story goes up in flames.
