It seemed likely; the thought of him and that grin and that figure was enough to make Newt’s heart twist and his stomach do flip-flops. -

Summary
It feels like they’re fighting a losing battle, like it’s always been a losing battle, and it never stops coming. And the things Scott’s constantly fighting all seem to want the same end result: for everyone he knows to turn to dust and disappear like they never existed in the first place.
Isaac mumbles something and Scott turns his head, murmurs what into his neck; he breathes in just because he can, nose right under the cut of Isaac’s jaw.
“I said, what’re we going to do now?”

Derek kicks Isaac out, and the only thing Isaac can think as he slams the door to the loft shut and makes his way down the stairs and outside is of course it’s raining. He hikes his bag further up his shoulder and runs until his feet lead him to the one person who hasn’t let him down yet.
He’s soaked by the time he gets to Scott’s.

Scott laughs. "What the hell, Stiles, he's not a piece of cheese."
"Okay, but," Stiles waves a hand at the mess of a board game as he starts to set it up, "it's like, a metaphor for your life, dude. You are the mouse. Isaac is the cheese. This boot thing - I dunno what that is, but it's not good."
