“Bababababshshshshsh,” Klaus muttered some kind of shushing noises.
Dave nodded, looking at his husband with a kind of fondness.
“Oh no. Soldier down!” Oli exclaimed, but it went by unheard.
“Seems reasonable. I agree with you, Sunshine.” And he walked back to the kitchen with a smile on his face.-
Or, a take in Klaus and Dave's life after the Umbrella Academy is able to solve everything and they are able to just live their fucking lives

He opened the passenger door. “Can you see anything?”
“Negative.”
Dave leaned forward and tightened the piece of fabric anyway. Klaus whined and tried to stop him but, in the end, he just resigned himself to it as Dave checked that every single place Klaus could possibly be seeing anything by was covered.
“You’re so exaggerated. I told you I wasn’t seeing anything.”
He shrugged and kissed Klaus’s forehead before leading him out of the car. He also checked again if the ring was there and nodded to himself as if he hadn’t checked a hundred times already.

Summary
Klaus continued toward the door until Five chimed in with his dreaded inquiry: “Where are you going?”
“Oh, uh…” Curse this damn backpack. “Just a little vacation.”
Five, as was expected, didn’t buy it. His eyebrow drifted upward in suspicion. “Vacation to where?”
Klaus gave up on his nonexistent cover. “Oh, you know…Dallas…”
This revelation prompted Five to sit up in surprise, stirring him from his impenetrable repose. “Dallas?”
“Yeah, Dallas, it’s a lovely area: familiar, but still plenty to explore-”
“Why on Earth would you want to go back to that hellhole?” Five had already set his margarita down.
“You really wouldn’t understand, so don’t worry about it-”
“Try me.”
“Okay, okay, fine.” Klaus let out a huff of defeat and nerves before launching into defense mode. “I have to find out if Dave survived."

Klaus returns to Dallas to find out if he changed the timeline enough to save Dave from his fate. In finding him, he receives the most bittersweet shock of his life.

Things should be a little bit easier than they are, but then Five returns, long hidden secrets come to light, and things suddenly get a whole lot more complicated.

“The Commission-” Five stresses through clenched teeth, and Klaus waves him off.
“I know, I know. Scary time traveling assassins, I get it, but why would we have to worry about them now-”
Klaus is interrupted as the door bangs open, and familiar footsteps hurry towards them. He can’t help but smile as Dave’s voice rings out, tension leaving his body, because this whole fucking day might be a painful mess, but Dave always seems to make things a little bit brighter.
“Klaus, darlin’, I got your message. S’everythin’ alr-”
“You,” Five snarls venomously, and Dave’s head swivels towards him, eyes wide in surprise.

Summary
Of all his siblings, Klaus is the one he struggles with the most.
He’s as unpredictable as he is frenzied, and has a tendency to swing wildly between inanely joyous and maniacally depressive.
Though, Five supposes, that last one may be more a symptom of grief than it is Klaus, but- well.
Five certainly doesn’t have any way of knowing that; forty-five years trapped at the end of the world, teetering on the edge of madness and hysteria, and he hadn’t given a single thought to what would come after.*A short little drabble set somewhere between ‘fault lines’ and ‘two worlds collided’, but can be read as a stand-alone
