“I apologize, you’ve done nothing to cause this little fit I promise, it’s just-“ Edward snorted again as he crawled closer to Oswald’s face, acting like he couldn’t see him without their noses practically touching even with his own glasses on, “ I’ve been remembering what I did after I found you in this woods, and it’s a bit quite how I both overthought what to do and didn’t think it through, no?”
Oswald paused, trying to think what options he had, which was not helped by the feeling of Edward’s breath on him and his own intoxication. Sure, it wasn't as bad as Edward’s was currently, but it still took him longer to think clearly than he could sober.
“ What do you mean?”
His own voice sounded so unlike himself as he said it, to the point he felt like crying. Instead of coming off as direct and tough, it came off as wavering and weak.
“ I never told you what the original plan was?”
He shouldn’t have gotten drunk with Ed.

He will always make excuse after excuse for his actions, never taking an inch of accountability for it. It doesn’t matter if he uses the excuse of self-defense and how he “wanted to help an abuse victim” as he did in court, or the more recent insanity defense he adopted as soon as he got out of Arkham.
People like Edward don’t want to change, they don’t want to stop hurting others and play innocent when called out. He is a lost cause, through and through. The only wish Lee has for men like Nygma is for them to experience the same, exact anguish that they inflicted upon the innocent women around them."
