“His boyfriend?” The paramedic asks, a glint in his eye telling Avery that he understands the situation and that he’ll cover for the lie. Avery nods, swallowing hard, and enters the ambulance.

After the events of DAWTDE, Avery finally finds Derek alive. The King is gone, and for the first time, Avery thinks he and Derek may rest. But between fragile smiles and blushes, it becomes clear one does not need to exist in order to haunt the narrative.

anyways I love how Derek is portrayed, he feels so insane like he SHOULD BE!!!! (derek is my comfort character this fic is comforting me very well)
derek struggling with kiy's haunted narrative is SO interesting, so interesting that I SUBSCRIBEDS!!! but yeah I recommend this fix for all you eldritch Derek fans out there (me!me!me!)
