Summary
As they make their way through the tunnel, the cold of the outside melts to a sweltering heat. Winter gear already shed, Joey questions the high collar on his costume. The thought lasts no longer than a second. He won’t broadcast to the world the moment he’s been trying to put behind himself his entire life. Unhelpfully, his mind finds its way to surgery and crashes into the realization that his brother was experimented on in this very building.
Nearly the same experiment Slade had undergone before Joey was born.
Grant knew that Father had gotten very sick, but never why, or what came of it after. Ever since the day Joey had learned what their father was willing to sacrifice for Deathstroke the Terminator, Addie had made a point to avoid uttering that name as much as possible. She never revealed to Grant that the mercenary he idolized in secret was the man he hated most of all. Grant would never know just how much like their father he had become. Or how much he fell short.
Joey is shaken from his thoughts by Dick shushing him, of all things. The whole thing is so absurd that Joey can’t help but roll his eyes.
“Yeah, I know. I forgot. I’m sorry.”

Summary
“You’re a human being, too, Vic.” Joey ends that sentence with the sign name he came up with for him: the letter v followed by two fingers wrapping their way around his forehead, a representation of the metal band that keeps Vic’s cybernetics bound to the half of his face that made it through the accident.
Based on a scene from The New Teen Titans Vol. 2 where Vic visits Joey in the hospital following the events of Terror of Trigon.

He closed his eyes.
Bruce had stopped barely one full step past the doorway, but he was moving now, each step bringing him closer to Clark. With no outside sound to filter through, and with his eyes tightly closed, Clark's whole world finally narrowed entirely to Bruce. His surefooted steps. His steady breathing. The beautiful thrum of his heartsong, perfectly unique to him, perfectly composed and in control. The sound of ruffling fabric as he unbuttoned the cuffs of his sleeves and rolled them up.
The feel of his callous-rough fingertips, gently reaching out to trace a path along Clark’s jawline.
Clark shuddered at the touch, at the trail of fire left behind where Bruce’s fingers had slid across his skin. He wanted to lean into it desperately. He didn't.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered instead. His chest ached.
Bruce pressed his palm flat against Clark’s cheek. “I know,” he said. And then, “Red lights on.”
Or: After a difficult case on another planet, Clark deals with his guilt by not sleeping or taking care of himself or talking to his partner. When it all comes crashing down, Bruce finally intervenes.
