“Rules are rules, Vi. We can bend them all we want, but we can’t quite break them.”

Piltover University's Non-Traditional Students Initiative means Vi and her little sister have been able to study at the prestigious school for a few years now. She's focused on her studies, part-time job, and hobbies—an uncomplicated life. But then she meets Caitlyn Kiramman, her professor for her Feminist Literature class, and things suddenly aren't so simple anymore.

“I miss her,” Caitlyn whispers. “She didn’t make my life easy. In fact, she complicated it exponentially. I never made the right decisions for her, was never on the same page. Thinking of her always brought pain.”
Vi nods, her thumb grazing Caitlyn’s cheek.
“You did everything you could to make her happy, and it still wasn’t enough to save her in the end,” she whispers, letting out a sigh as her gaze travels behind Caitlyn, toward the window.

A month has passed since Noxus' invasion. For the last week, Caitlyn has been planning a fundraiser gala to help with the Piltover and Zaun war relief efforts. She has everything under control... until she doesn't. But Vi is there to help, as she always is, and Caitlyn learns that perhaps it's time to finally let some things go.

“We’d be finished by now if you hadn’t decided you need such a huge bed, y’know?” Caleb teases as he hammers a thick wooden slat to the bed frame and reaches for the next. You laugh and stick your tongue out at him,
“I need enough room for all my plushies!”
Caleb peers at you slyly out of the corner of his eye.
“Hmm?” His voice is teasing, “Not because you’re hoping to meet someone special at the Hunter Academy?”
Face heating up, you snap your head away and hide behind the curtain of your hair. Smirking at your reaction, Caleb continues,
“Don’t worry,” His voice is lower, breathier, and it shoots straight through you. “I know you don’t have any experience.” Caleb leans closer to you, eyes wide and mocking. “Would you even know what to do?”You’ve been accepted into the Deepspace Hunter Academy and Caleb comes back from Skyhaven to help you get your new apartment set up.

Worst kept secret in that there’s no way people can’t see the way you feel about Caleb, or he you. How, despite the history there, that familial bond you’d grown up tethered by, smothered by, you want him so badly you think you might shake apart with the feeling of it. How it can’t be a surprise to anyone the way he drives you crazy.
Or how you want nothing more than to press up against him in public, parade around on his arm like there’s nothing wrong with the idea of the two of you together.
