What’s a word for it? Exhilarating. A fast car and running through reds. The seat belt warning screeching at you. If he crashes—and he won’t—but if he does: slamming straight into the steering wheel. He’ll lose a tooth or ten. Sometimes people’s noses get crushed into their skull. He’ll go 2D.
It won’t happen. That kind of thing doesn’t happen to people like Shoto. But for tonight he can picture himself closing his eyes, letting go of the wheel, and stepping on it. The dark streets are sanguine, full of promise. Trees and houses blur as he drives in circles.
Then: a flash of purple hair, a dark blue hoodie that is probably his. Shoto steps on the brake. Tires screech on pavement. He tugs his seat belt across his body and it clicks into place as the car comes to a stop in front of the sidewalk.

Summary
Dean has always been excruciatingly hard on himself, in memory and in the present. He can't help but remember what he perceives as failings, as things that endanger Sam. What he never remembers, however, what he never even considers, is that things can also endanger him. In the midst of saving Sam, he becomes a victim himself. It's up to Sam and Bobby to find the answer to Dean's deteriorating health.

Lino was getting frustrated. Watching the orange kitten get comfortable with the human made him nervous. It was rare that a human was actually good. Most of them were mean and took brothers away. He didn’t trust this.
“You seem too friendly to be a stray. Do you have a home?” A meow. Lino slowly laid down, all his paws still firmly on the ground in case he needed to run. The person looked up at the movement, eyes finding Lino quickly. “Awe, a friend of yours?” the human turned back to Yongbok like he could reply before looking back at Lino. “And you’re missing part of your ear. Did you get in a fight?” When Lino didn’t react to the human, he simply went back to paying attention to Yongbok.

Suguru has stopped just behind him, instead of continuing on to his own room.
“Are you…okay?” He sounds hesitant, as if he isn’t really sure what to say.
Satoru looks up from where his hand is reaching out, fighting to keep his eyes open as he turns slightly to where Suguru is standing. “Yeah? I’m fine.”
“Are you…sure? You just look like you’re…going to fall over or something.”
He’s right of course, Satoru wants nothing more than to be horizontal at the moment, but why does he care how Satoru feels right now? When has he ever cared? They’ve never been openly hostile to each other, but they’ve also never been more than classmates, who don’t bother with talking about anything other than school or training or petty arguments about who ate all the chips in the kitchen. (The shared kitchen, Satoru argued. If you don’t want other people to eat your food then don’t put it somewhere that they could get to it.)
aka: satoru and suguru in their first year. satoru has no concept of self-care and suguru has to help him get through a migraine, then some more light angst when suguru is injured on a mission. maybe they fall in love. perchance
