    Summary

Coriolanus’ mind had been buzzing since he’d left the celebration, he knew all the posca he drank certainly had been playing a part in it all, but the mere thought of seeing Lucy Gray again had been racing through his mind far more than he cared to admit. But to his surprise, and much to his own dread, as he opened the door to the high biology lab, he discovered only Dr. Gaul was waiting there.

“Close the door behind you, I think we have a few things to discuss,” Dr. Gaul said.

Or, Coriolanus makes a dangerous deal with Dr. Gaul to not only get one step closer to reaching his goals, but to keep Lucy Gray safe and sound by his side - playing the part of the Capitol's newest and brightest shinning star to serenade even the deadliest of snakes coming for them. But when Coriolanus truly begins to let himself fall for Lucy Gray, and she for him, they realize that their fight for each other will perhaps be one of their greatest battles yet.

    Summary

Lucy sucks in a tight breath. She never expected to be dragged back. She didn’t think the Capitol wanted anything to do with her now that she’d won their little game.

But apparently she had made such an impression that they asked very nicely if she would sing at the opening of the 11th Hunger Games.

How could she have said anything but yes?

    Summary

“Your dean wishes to report you to the President and have you punished. I should agree, for you broke my rule so that your little bird could sing.”

He could say he’s sorry, but he thinks that if she plans to kill him now, that would not do anything but take away his dignity. So Coriolanus stays silent.

“But she is just a bird,” Gaul laughs, loud with her chest, something off-kilter and insane about it. “And you were right. For your lovely proposal to work, there must be a victor. Now you understand, it is not often that I am wrong. I think you would be wasted in punishment, Mr. Snow. I think instead, I’ll take you in as my protege.”
