    Summary

Alastor had the voice of an angel. That's what everyone said before they saw him. It was easy, on the radio, to sing and talk his heart out without the look. The look that people gave him. Usually, it was the white folk. In the booth, they'd look at him with disdain and resentment. How tormenting it must be, to their feeble minds, to be doing work to support a mixed-Creole man with brown skin. Other times, it was other black folk. His skin was too dark to be welcomed by the white man, and too light to be accepted by his own community.

So he found his comfort behind a microphone. Where no one could see him, and everyone would listen.

    ----
Or: An AU where the characters of Hazbin Hotel lived in 1930s New Orleans. Alastor is a singer/entertainer busting his ass off to make himself known. He comes to meet a young, lively man that goes by Vox. An entertainer, too, at least he says he is. Vox has many, many ideas that involved Alastor. Many that Alastor does not take kindly too, or, at least he says he doesn't.

Author's note: Many, many 1930s music will be mentioned in this fic :) it will be a semi-slow burn. I'm obsessed with S2E4, can you tell?

    Summary

Inspired by the comic by @BigTerrence on TikTok: "What If Alastor Woke Up In A World Where He and Vox Were Lovers?". I won't be using the comic shot for shot, this is inspired by it but not trying to recreate it in fic form.
    ~
Alastor was in the middle of executing his master plan when everything changed. He had only shut his eyes for a moment -- trying to rest and recover... but when he opened his eyes, instead of being tied to his favorite spinning chair he found himself in a warm, plush bed with shark themed sheets. At first, he figured Vox had taken pity and laid him there, but as his eyes wandered around the room things were starting to make less and less sense. When had Vox had the time to take several pictures of them together? Happy pictures? And, more importantly, when had Vox put a ring on his finger?

Ah, well, the photo of them at an alter on the nightstand answers that question.

    ~

What happens when Canon!Alastor has swapped bodies with Married!Alastor? How will their Voxs react? What will they learn about themselves, and what else could they possibly fuck up?

Title of fic inspired by: Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke.

    Summary

Another 1930s AU fic from me, who's surprised?
    _

Getting rid of a body shouldn't be something Vox is so used to, and yet the steps came naturally. There was something different about himself that he was beginning to realize. Shunned briefly, but now, it sat comfortably in the corners of his mind.

The static electricity around them made Vox deeply aware of the new darkness that made itself at home. He was sure Alastor had become familiar with it too. It felt like they shared it -- as if it was one in the same -- linking them together like the red string of soulmates.

    __

OR : A fic about Vox and Alastor meeting in the 1930s as kids and growing up together in a world not accepting of them. It time skips through some of their childhood as they develop into the Murder Husbands (and their feelings for each other). But in a world where they only have each other, what will happen when they're torn apart?
