There had been surprisingly few changes since that Luo Binghe learned his husband wasn’t the original Shen Qingqiu, but someone who read a story about Luo Binghe and still decided to choose him.
The thing was, Luo Binghe couldn’t shake the idea that he came from a storybook. It was just so strange, and Luo Binghe couldn’t help the rising jealousy that prompted him to ask, “Who was Shizun’s favorite character? Was there anyone in the story that he was interested in?”
It was a self serving question that Luo Binghe was able to ask without a hint of shame. He’d fully admit that he expected the answer to be him, not just because he was Shen Yuan’s husband, but because he was the protagonist of the story!
Or: Luo Binghe has questions about his existence as a storybook character, is lost in the sauce for his husband, has a picnic, and gets good and bad answers from Shen Qingqiu.

But Jiang Wanyin doesn’t let go, nor does he say anything in response. He simply stares down at their interlinked hands, a look of disbelief and horror slowly etching onto his face.
“Jiang-xiong…?” Nie Huaisang tilts his head, wondering if he’d done something to offend the other boy.
“I can’t,” Jiang Wanyin says finally, teeth gritted and brow furrowed.
“Huh?” Huaisang blinks again. He’s been doing that a lot lately. “You can’t what?”

If there was any alpha that was the ideal candidate to look after him until the pup was born, it was the one standing in front of him.
