Summary
Tighnari heaves his body up a branch and promptly freezes when his gaze lands on a boy propped against the trunk, sprawled on the branch above him. It is not seeing another child in his getaway spot that stuns Tighnari, and it is not even the fact that the boy is sleeping there as if entirely confident he wouldn’t fall. What stuns Tighnari is the hood over his head, unmistakeably shaped into two triangular ears.
“Valuka Shuna,” Tighnari breathes.
The boy looks at him with the same kind of wonder Tighnari feels, widened red eyes gawking at him. His pupils are slitted.
“Hermanubis,” the boy whispers.

Summary

When he met for the first time crimson eyes, crinkling at the corners, and a wide, beaming grin as warm as the summer sun. It was not an earth-shattering moment. Truthfully, there was nothing special about that afternoon. Yet, he still felt it. That unshakeable conviction that something had been altered, deep within him.
Kaveh does not remember that day. That is alright. Alhaitham shall remember for them both. He will cradle that moment close to his heart, tenderly, carefully, for it is one of his most precious memories.
