“I have range.” Wen Kexing leans back against a bench, wrists and elbows loose. What a terrible fate for a kitchen, Zhou Zishu thinks, to not have Wen Kexing effortlessly flowing across it at all times. “In either case, you’ve a mouth to be filled. It is my humble duty to provide.”

Summary
Zhou Zishu does not resent being born an omega. It has never hindered him and, in fact, has often been a valuable tool in his arsenal. He does not resent it, but when the nails rob him of much of what it meant to be an omega he accepts it and locks that part of himself away.
Why would have thought that all it would take was feeling safe and secure in his old home, with the pup he's unknowingly adopted and the alpha he's still unsure what to do with close at hand to stir to life a part of him he thought dead?

He’s startled by a knock on the door. They were so engrossed in one another that they’d completely missed the loud crying, coming from behind the door.
‘Shifu! Shishu! Help.’ Cheng Ling sounds frantic. For a second Kexing looks like he’ll just ignore all the noise and continue. But before he can chide Kexing for it, Zishu feels a loud sigh against his cheeks. Kexing climbs off him reluctantly. He makes for the door in just his pants, hard on and all.

Summary
Zhang Chengling knows he hasn’t been dealt the best hand in life, but he’s content where he is now. Living with Zhou Zishu is comforting in a way Chengling cannot describe and could not have imagined back when he was still being shuffled from uncle to uncle. He’s comfortable here--happy, even.
Chengling doesn’t have much to complain about these days. In fact, the only issue troubling him is the increasingly evident realization that his adoptive father’s house husband is an actual mobster.

There is a man he’s met two days ago trying to stare a hole into his chest. The pool is three rows of chairs and five parasols away and somehow he’s still getting splashed. A family of five has just arrived with a whole suitcase of pool toys, including an assortment of water guns, and the youngest son is already crying because there are other people in the pool. Zhou Zishu sighs and wishes he could be somewhere else.
Wen Kexing is still watching him with that indulgent smirk, looking like there’s no place he’d rather be.

It was his mistake.
“Hey brat. I lost your idiot. Don’t tell Qin’s disciple.”
Aforementioned Qin’s disciple’s face darkened and he urged Kexing to give him the phone.
If he wasn’t so worried for Chengling this might have been one of the best days of Wen Kexing’s life.

“You’re late,” Prince Jing Beiyuan said as Zhou Zishu strode over the courtyard to the shaded stone table under the willow tree. He smiled prettily at Zishu from behind his fan, crinkling the exquisite lines of his face. “Sit. Drink! We nearly got started without you.”
“I had urgent business.” Zishu sat beside Beiyuan, glancing at his guests. The solemn young man in black beside Beiyuan was Beiyuan’s neighbour, the hostage Shamanet Wu Xi from subjugated Nanjiang who had grown up next door to Beiyuan. The stranger on the far left couldn’t be much older than Wu Xi, a smiling, pretty young man with a jade pin in his hair, dressed in rich dark teal robes with red accents, a white silk fan clasped in one elegant palm.

Summary
Tian Chuang Leader and right hand man to the Crown Prince, Zhou Zishu, goes undercover into the Ghost Valley, in order to get the rumored Armory key from the unhinged and bloodthirsty Valley Master, Wen Kexing. Posing as an unassuming servant, Zishu expects to go relatively unnoticed among the ghosts. However, when he earns the interest of the Valley Master himself, Zhou Zishu soon finds that he has to keep his wits about him, if he is to keep his undercover persona in place, while enduring the advances of a keen-eyed ghost leader.
