Shane wasn't like other children, she knew that. He was special in many ways, but seeing him by himself all the time hurt the large part of her that new no matter what he did, he would be an outcast. All she wanted was for her baby to have an easy time in this world, have someone to look out for him.A friend. God, all she wanted was for Shane was for him to have a friend, and with every birthday or missed milestone she grew more and more worried it wouldn't happen. Not without help.
