But as unusual phenomena accelerate, the secrets of the Kains: the language of houses and dreams, experimental interactions with the fabric of time, the theory and practice of Memory, and the esoteric science of vitality and the soul-- as well as Maria's own secretiveness-- may threaten the future of their House, and even the afterlife of Wild Nina.
