No one uttered a sound when he had asked, but their gazes were all cast downwards, some with voiceless tears streaming down battered and exhaustion-heavy faces.
Even Clorinde’s eyes reflected an unnatural sheen, like the surfaces of glass panes in direct sunlight. When Neuvillette had glanced at her, eyes laced with confusion, she simply shifted her focus towards the area he had just exited, the area with the glistening sea.
Neuvillette didn't realise how many things he wanted to say to Wriothesley until he was faced with his loss. Consumed in grief, Neuvillette felt helpless within the limitless cycle of time.
Or: Wriothesley dies and Neuvillette is taking his death quite badly

“Coming!” Al-Haitham calls, navigating the maze of packing peanuts and crates. He undoes the latch on the door and lets it swing open, fully expecting to see the bearded face of his landlord only to be met with the vermillion-eyed face of somebody he had given up hope on seeing for the rest of his life.
There’s a long moment of silence. The aching swell of Vivaldi in the background and the rushing in his ears like the ocean waves.
“...Kaveh?”
Kaveh, globally-renowned musician, disappears off the face of Teyvat. Five years later, he shows up outside of Al-Haitham's door with no explanation but to ask for a bed to sleep in.
It's fine. They only have thirteen years of history, after all.
