Summary
“You sweet-talker,” Felix lets out, feeling exposed and too-aware of the grimy bills tucked into his waist and against the garter pouch on his leg. “I never got your name.”
Hwang doesn’t answer. But he does start tracing something on the back of Felix’s hand, his finger leaving a trail of fire against Felix’s skin.
Hyunjin, Felix mouths playfully.
Hyunjin’s eyes flicker somewhere behind him, and Felix lets go of his hand. The argument is dying down, and he knows their little bubble will be broken soon.
Felix leans forward in the guise of still doing his routine, whispering against Hyunjin’s ear, “I’m Felix,” and lets their eyes linger onto each other for another second before he tears it away.
It’s stupid. Giving his real name to some man in a bar just because he was gentle. Just because they are both people who can’t leave their circumstances.
Felix is a stripper at Stray Stars. Hyunjin is part of a gang. They live in the dingy, dirty outskirts of society, and find hope and solace in each other.

Summary
Driven by a sudden, desperate impulse, Minho leaned in close, his shadow merging with Chan’s. The words tumbled out in a frantic, breathy rush: "I'mtiredoflisteningtotheirmoaneverynight."
The silence that followed was deafening.
Then, a slow, effortless smile spread across Chan’s face—a smile so wide his eyes virtually disappeared into crescents of mischief. "And which room is currently hosting this... nightly performance?"
"302," Minho muttered, his face flushing a deep, involuntary crimson.
"Ah," Chan exhaled, a soft laugh escaping him. "You’re Jisung’s roommate."
Minho nodded fervently, his eyelashes fluttering in a rhythmic display of anxiety. "Please. Can I? Is there any way out?"
Chan’s expression shifted, his voice turning suddenly professional, almost cold. "Of course, you can’t change roommates."

Summary
Ever since moving to the United States, he had bottled up his feelings, moving through the world with utmost discipline and deliberation. Teachers always commented that he was so mature for his age, in a world where students skipped class to smoke weed behind the bleachers and seventeen-year-olds still threw food at each other in the cafeteria. He had been the President of National Honor Society, the captain of the baseball team, and in his junior year, he’d even stepped in to cover a minor role in the school musical, when it became apparent that the dude was suffering from an intense bout of food poisoning. Keeping oneself rigidly within the lines was the only way to succeed, for a young boy who immigrated from Korea with a thick accent and wired glasses that were too big for his face. Seungmin didn’t do feelings.
Though that would probably explain the tightness in his chest whenever someone so much as mentioned Felix’s name in his vicinity.
In which Seungmin struggles to reconcile romantic feelings, friendships, and his cultural identity in his second year of college.
