Not that Dazai has ever tried hard enough to get closer to his goal, though—not that he’s actually tried at all, for that matter.

Summary
As he caught the unconscious Chuuya, the first thing he realized was how light he felt. The next was how short his hair was. Finally, his face, despite being covered in blood, was awfully young.
“Well, shit,” Dazai murmured as he looked at a Chuuya that was at least four years younger than his Chuuya. Chibi looked about how he did when Dazai had left the mafia. Based on that, and the fact that he had been using corruption, it was probably before Dazai had left. Though, he couldn’t recall losing Chuuya or Chuuya being replaced with an older version in that time. That either meant his memories were distorted or this Chuuya was from an entirely different universe.
He would need to consult Ranpo.
