Summary
Kirk and Spock are the best of friends, to the point that people are starting to think it's a little weird.
Surely Spock can be friends in the Vulcan way, and Jim can be friends in the human way, and both can get what they need from it. Jim can have his lovers and Spock can have his secrets, so long as they both know where they stand with each other.
But when an accidental telepathic link makes Spock an unwilling spectator of Jim's sex life, it gets hard to keep up the boundaries that make their friendship work.

The joke falls flat, but Jim appreciates it nonetheless. Looking up, he quickly shakes his head, steps closer to the bed and takes Spock’s hand in his. He knows he’s blushing, but there’s no time for embarrassment, so he simply states, “That… won’t be necessary.”
