Jaemin followed his gaze. “That one yours?” he asked, nodding down toward the girl whose face was now hidden by her dark hair. Her shoulders trembled, barely noticeable in the glow.
Renjun didn’t know how to answer that. Ruo wasn’t his, she wasn’t something that belonged to him—she probably belonged to her father or brother, if anything.
“We’re engaged.”
Jaemin’s head tilted slightly. “And I take it you don’t want to be?”
Renjun didn’t answer. He’d never said it aloud. Never even admitted it to himself.
Jaemin looked back down at the scene below, voice low. “Or rather, you don’t want to be part of her darling family?”
