Summary
In which Max is awake, and the Byers moved back to California after S4 instead of moving in with the Wheelers, and Vecna actually does end up dying and shriveling up when they blow him the fuck up.
A post s4 fic, but not what you’d usually expect seeing those words. No 18 month gap, no Byers living with the Wheelers.
Vecna is dead. The Party defeated him at the creel house. He can’t haunt them anymore, so the Byers-Hopper clan decide to set their path straight and return to Lenora, and it’s been just over a year since Vecna was officially declared dead.
Mike, Nancy, and Steve fly out to California, and soon after the rest of the Party joins them, including the newest official members; Rockin’ Robin Buckley and Vickie Dunne.

“What!” It was Will’s turn to blush harder, giving him a glare reserved for Mike Wheeler and Mike Wheeler only. “No. God. That was ages ago. I’ve been past that for a long time.”
Mike motioned like he’d made his point. “See? So? It wouldn’t be weird.”
So, Mike likes guys. Fine, Will can live with that. Except now Mike's worried about having fallen behind and would really like some help practicing how to kiss a guy from his also-into-guys best friend. And Will is trying really, really hard to be a good mentor to him, so what is he going to do, say no?
