Yaz sits, eyes closed and almost breathless atop the rocks, the Doctor’s footsteps fading into the horizon as she walks away, pebble in hand, across the sand and toward the ocean ready to skim her stone and wish (this stone had better be magic, the Doctor thinks). A slow melodic hum, sweet and somber, rises from Yaz’s chest as the conversation she just shared with the Doctor dances in her mind and her single human heart hurts.
