“What if we made the portrait ourselves?” Zelda lowers her head and kisses below his jaw, smiling at how his pulse quickens under her lips. “It can be our way of making it real.”
“You’re forgetting, dear,” he tilts his head to give her more access, practically purring under her touch as she kisses her way down to his collar, “Neither of us know how to paint.”
“We can take our time,” she whispers, kissing back up his neck before turning his head so she can lick into his mouth, “We’re not King and Queen until it’s hanging in the Great Hall.”

Two years after the Upheaval, Zelda and Link are finally ready to take on their promised roles as Queen and King Consort of Hyrule.

Summary
Nearly fifteen years have passed since Link and Zelda sealed Ganondorf away and restored peace to Hyrule. Now married, the two of them lead a happy but stressful life together. Zelda, now Queen and sole ruler of Hyrule, fights to maintain alliances that have weakened since her marriage, while Link, Prince Consort of Hyrule, struggles to gain proper recognition from the High Council so he may one day take the throne at his wife's side.
These issues soon prove to be the least of their troubles, however, when Zelda's former fiancé, King Ashton of the kingdom Vandelius, returns with a vengeance. Aided by mysterious dark forces, Ashton aims to take back not only his former bride but her kingdom as well...

Summary
Link has always been something of a mystery to Zelda ever since he showed up with such fantastical stories and warnings. Heeding his words they had caught Ganondorf off guard and freed the Gerudo from his dark influence, but that was all many years ago. Link and Zelda were both grown now, and dealing with the almost peaceful future. Zelda just wants him to stick around and trust her, but she can read him no better than she could went they first met.
After an attempted assassination, getting lost in the woods, and a misunderstanding, Zelda's hand in marriage is offered to Link. And for reasons unclear to Zelda, he accepts.
(Really, this whole thing could have been prevented had Link learned how to communicate a little better... but he's never been the best with words.)
