Kafka will never understand his boyfriend, Soshiro.
One minute, he’s sweet-talking him in the sun, running fingers through his hair. The next, he’s scrolling through apartment listings like they’ve already signed a lease. Soshiro acts like it’s up for discussion, but Kafka knows better, he lost this battle the moment Soshiro decided he was his.
Not that Kafka minds. Even if Soshiro is controlling, obsessive, and just a little unhinged… he’s Kafka’s problem now.

"Hoshina-" Kafka grits his teeth. Sucks in a ragged gasp of air. "I'm sorry."
The water bottle is pushed gently against his face, right along the fading tear tracks. Seconds stretch out only to shatter around them. Time a poignant wheel that won't stop turning in circles. What they need right now is a line to cross. But they're formless in the fallout. Still, Hoshina persists. Pushes back against the splintering moment.
“Come on. Drink."
It makes sense, that Hoshina would love as fiercely as he fights.
