Summary
“I–I miss you a lot, Will. I haven’t made many friends around here, my roommate is kind of an idiot and people here are either too cool or too smart or just plain and I miss you– I miss the others too, the entire party, I mean, but the thing is that sometimes I still feel like that kid in the swings. That kid who was alone and scared, I look around sometimes and wonder if maybe you’re feeling alone and scared too…”
or Mike Wheeler is alone in college dealing with El’s loss and maybe finally putting some puzzle pieces together

Summary
Mel King was a creature of habit.
There was a specific sort of choreography to her life beyond the chaos of the Emergency Department. A carefully controlled routine, a color-coded calendar, a rigid set of rituals that kept her grounded enough to keep showing up day after day, to keep on doing the work that was required of her to save lives.
Everything was going fine for Mel. Her personal life was predictable, unexciting, and perfectly fulfilling, thank you very much.
Enter Frank Langdon, agent of chaos.

Summary
“I can just pretend someone would actually step up," Mel admits, the honesty slipping out before she can stop it. "That someone would finally be the one to take care of me.”
Frank doesn't hesitate. He leans in until they’re temple-to-temple, blocking out the sun and the noise of the Faire alike.
“I could,” he whispers. “And I think I’d be damn good at it, too.”
Where Mel invites Frank to a ren faire, gets roped into working the naughty bartender booth, and he shows her just how much he likes her costume.

Summary
The invitation tumbled from his lips before he could process it, before his brain could tally the risks or second-guess the leap. “Mel,” he said, his voice dropping to a very soft, deliberate murmur. “Do you want to stay awhile? I mean, the fireworks are about to start.”
Her eyes lit up with tentative surprise, wide and shimmering under the bright overhead light. “Really?”
“'Course,” Frank replied, as easily as breathing. His smile was steady now, warm as the promise of the show to come, even as his heart hammered against his ribs. “Wouldn’t want you to miss them.”

Summary
“I’m going to end up like them, with my life revolving around this job,” she says. “Coming in early and leaving late, sleeping with my phone waiting to get called in even on days off.”
“She needs to get laid.”
He raises his hands as Mel frowns at him, eyebrows furrowing behind her glasses.
“What? I think he needs to get laid too.”
“She needs to be made love to.”
And then, like her voice is working faster than her brain, Mel says, “We should just lock them in a room so they can have sex with each other.”
Frank laughs at the absurdity of residents trying to get their attendings to hook up, but it’s like a lightbulb goes off for her.
“Why didn’t I think of this sooner? We should set them up.”

Summary
The car pooling, she thought, represented this blurring of boundaries: not quite work but not quite personal life, either. If somebody asked her if she ever saw Langdon outside of the hospital, what should she say?
Mel and Langdon car pool to work.
