Summary
Alicent Hightower, DVM, has a life that many dream of at 32 years-old. She runs a veterinary clinic in rural Southern Illinois, has plenty of friends that she only ever sees at work, and a steady boyfriend who is wildly in love with her. Alicent, however, is married to her job, and finds very little time for anything else. Her boyfriend wants them to move in together, and her friends keep telling her to get a life outside of work, but she can only run from her problems for so long.
Rhaenyra Targaryen is the current top female rodeo athlete in the country, and has been competing against the pressure of upholding her father’s legacy as the greatest American Bull Rider for most of her life. Rodeo is the one thing that can quiet her mind. When the only thing in the world is her body and the bull beneath it, Rhaenyra can feel eight seconds of total freedom. But with pressure mounting for the upcoming season, she's desperate for a distraction.
