His days were punctuated by a quiet, incessant static. A buzzing akin to that of flies, drawn to the rotten and decaying scent of all that we discard and watch fade. The day tasted bitter and long. The sun beat against his flesh, scorching and its light unforgiving as it illuminated even the smallest of sins. He let wine coat his tongue, a bitter reminder of his reality. Of his flesh, rotting in the afternoon sun. Of the buzzing, a gentle reminder and promise by the flies that he was dying. But heaven did not await him. He should have known that by now. The Devil was real. And he wasn't a red man with horns and a tail. He was beautiful because he's a fallen angel, and he used to be God's favorite.

Summary
Eddie had never given much thought to dying, at least, he would deny ever doing so— though he'd had reason enough in the last few months —but even if he had, he wouldn't have imagined it like this. At least it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone he loved. Noble, even. Brave. That ought to count for something, right?
He knew that if he had never come to Forks, he would not be staring at the eyes of death in this moment. But, as terrified as Eddie was, he could not bring himself to regret the decision. When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not unreasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.

In his dreams, he would imagine Will’s lips, kisses carving him out like switchblades, but Michael never felt more at home than at the faux cathedral of love he had built at Will’s feet. Will was pure in every way Michael was corrupt. Will’s love was beautiful while Mike’s burned and clawed, it ripped to shreds and bled. This was why he never told Will, nor Lucas, nor Dustin, nor Nancy. How could he ruin such a beautiful soul? How could he ever be worthy of such divinity?

Teeth pierced flesh, blood flowing freely down his throat. The copper smell was only distinguishable if focused on, his mind occupied by the blissful ecstasy that was consuming. The steady thrum of heartbeat palpable on his tongue, his head fogged with the heady smell of rot and decay. Blood covered his hands, his tongue, his throat, his chest. Harsh crimson contrasting with ivory white.

“I don’t think that it has to mean that you’re into guys,” Lucas says. His words are accompanied by a casual shrug, and said in the tone of someone who has clearly already given this subject some thought. Will doesn’t know what to do with that information. Jump from a building, maybe. “I mean, we’d all get flustered if Spider-Man carried us in his arms.”
Mike points to him enthusiastically. “Thank you, Lucas.”
Dustin looks between the two of them, his eyes narrowed.
“...Would we?”
“Sure,” Mike concludes. “He’s attractive. That’s not a weird thing to think.”
Will just barely resists the urge to bang his head against the table. He feels Dustin’s eyes glued to his burning face, and sinks even further down his chair.
In which Mike tells Spider-Man that he has a crush on his best friend, and Will jumps to some very wrong conclusions.
