Summary
“Purp’s, heh.. Hey…” Red chirps, making direct eye contact. Which was strange, for Red, who usually adverted their eyes away from Purple. Purple never really knew why Red did that.
Purple turns their head back to look at the crowd of people again, but they adjust and wrap an arm around Red’s back. “Hey, Red.” Purple spoke softly.
Red shuffles to get more comfortable against Purple. “Heey… Heh, Purp’s, you’re really.. You’re… Mmm…” Red searches for the words, their gaze flicking back and forth on the side profile of Purple. “You’re a good security person, ya’know…” Red rolls onto their side, moving to get up-close and personal with Purple. “Really good.”
Purple cocks their eyebrow and uses two fingers to push Red’s face back. “Thank you, Red.” Red whines, but lets Purple’s gentle touch guide their face back. “You’re a good captain.” Purple doesn’t truly think Red is a good captain, in fact, Red is quite a shitty captain, but Purple wouldn’t want to break Red’s fragile—currently drunk—heart.
AKA: Red is stupidly drunk, and just as stupidly bold.

Summary
Red shifts again, nervous. Purple’s so tense. “I was lonely.” They confess, even though it was something Red wouldn’t have said on their own.
Purple starts stroking Red’s back, running their hand slowly up and down it, soothingly so. “Yeah?” They keep their voice low, as soft as Purple’s voice can get. Which usually wasn’t much soft at all.
Red was cute. Purple wouldn’t usually admit this either, but when they aren’t running their mouth and being a jerk to them, they’re quite cute. Purple leans their head against Red’s. Red seems to relax further as Purple does so.
“Yeah.” They repeat Purple, voice just as soft.
AKA: Red is lonely, and Purple is available.

“Listen, I’m telling you - he wasn’t human!” Mercury threw his hand out, pointing it towards Earth.
“We’ve just got, what- mermaids, hanging out in the ocean over here?” Earth spluttered, mouth open in disbelief as he tilted the drink in his hand, almost spilling it. “Mercury, you are aware of how weird this sounds, right?”
Luna stared at him from Earth’s side, brow furrowed. “Normally I don’t like to agree with Earth-” Earth gave him an affronted look, but Luna seemingly ignored it, continuing, “but Mercury, this does sound a little… unreal. I mean, we know Sol’s not human - but he’s Sol. I’d be surprised if he was human, honestly. It’s a little weirder if we’ve got… mermaids? in the water.”
Or; Mercury deals with issues related to being one of Sol's right-hand-men, is saved by a siren, and things just escalate from there.
