Summary
After mentioning that she wants to be an Enforcer over dinner, Caitlyn is transferred from the Junior Academy to Zaun's only school to discourage her from choosing that path. During her first day, a girl named Vi begrudgingly helps Caitlyn and allows her to sit with her and her siblings, and Caitlyn develops an interest in being their friend (and... maybe (definitely) also develops a tiny (massive) crush on Vi). Despite their reservations, they accept her into their little group, and she fights to be a full part of the crew, through both high school and heists.
(Basically, Vi, Mylo, Claggor, Powder, and Caitlyn at the age they were in S1: Act 1 in high school in Zaun, featuring Caitlyn and Vi having an adorable teenage romance, Vander's kids trying to make Caitlyn into an anti-establishment delinquent (it mostly works), Vander ending up with another kid constantly hanging out in his basement, and the six of them (including Ekko) being chaotic teenagers/kids trying to find their way among a steampunk borderline-dystopia, high school, and their constant shenanigans that happen as a result of them all being chaotic little gremlins plus terminal illness and class war.)

Summary

How some nights Vi falls into Caitlyn's bed and doesn't leave until sunrise, their limbs pressed so tightly together it's hard to tell when one starts and the other stops.
It's just casual, and Vi is fine with it. Until she isn't.

You don’t have to earn shit or match expectations that were put on you since before you were born. I’m not saying you should give up your ambitions or your drive. I will take care of you through all of it, always, you know that. But please, Caitlyn, just try letting yourself be sometimes,” She wrapped her hands around Cait’s neck, putting her forehead against hers, whispering, ”Just be.”
Caitlyn breathed out, leaning into Vi’s touch.
Then chuckled.
“So we’re on a full name basis now,” she smiled devilishly, “I thought my name was Cupcake. Romance is dead,”

After the war, Caitlyn and Vi are learning what normalcy means—between flashbacks, burnt stew, quiet kisses, panic attacks, and inappropriate jokes at wildly inappropriate times.
This is a story about healing in inches, about the softness that survives, and about love that stays—steady, grounding, a little rough around the edges.
