Chu Wanning looks puzzled, at first, and it’s already too late when she realises what Mo Ran intends to do. “Hello, dad,” Mo Ran starts, voice unaffected as she starts a conversation with her father. “What was what? That sound? Oh, I was watching a movie and something happened in it. Hmm…it’s a horror movie…that didn’t sound like a scream of terror? Sure, Chu Wanning is hard to talk to even when you’ve sat in his classes for a whole semester. Sure, Chu Wanning doesn’t give out compliments or praises like some of the other professors do, or nearly the same number of As. Sure, Chu Wanning seems unkind, seems uncaring, seems too aloof to get along with even his colleagues, let alone his students. Completely unlike his omega status.
