Summary
“Please! I don’t care if I reek of desperation, as you so delicately put it. My job is on the line! If I go back with nothing, then there won’t be a job for me to go back to! So please, Miya-san, I’ll beg you one last time: Sign. The damn. Contract!” Akaashi begs.
“Over. My. Dead. Body.” Osamu shakes his head. “My business ain’t up for debate.”
Akaashi jerks upward, eyes flashing. “I’m not leaving Hyogo until I get what I want!”
Five minutes ago, this same guy called him stubborn and an idiot. Funny how fast self-righteousness crumbles when desperation sets in.
Osamu leans against the doorframe. “Well then,” he says, grinning wide enough to drip condescension. “Good luck house huntin’, city boy!”
Or: Osamu walked away from Onigiri Miya five years ago with no intention of coming back. Now, he runs a farm in the middle of nowhere committed to nothing but solitude. That is until a wool-wearing city boy barges into his life with a contract and the urge to get Osamu’s passion back! Can they pull themselves together or will their opposing views pull them apart?

Summary
“How did you start your morning?”
He swivels around, the peaks of his shoulder blades creasing his shirt as he swings his arms. “With a bite of the perfect onigiri.”
“Are you an expert at crafting the perfect onigiri?”
Past the entryway, Akaashi peers over a shoulder. His lips take on a coquettish curl. “No, I had help.” He sidesteps then — sunlight spills, saturates.
A black, paneled door appears on the screen. It’s quiet for all of a second before an outstretched arm invades the picture. Knuckles, loosely curled, rap against wood: rat-tat, rat-tat.
