"Make him sit through the next meeting," Thomas had told you, "and I'll get you a reservation at that restaurant you mentioned." The way your eyes had lit up, Rafayel knew he was doomed, but he tried anyway.
"Cutie, I can get you a reservation, too! You know I can I can get you a reservation at a hundred restaurants! Come on! Think this through!" You were smiling at him so sweetly. He was done for. He groaned. "Cutie, please!" You only smiled bigger.
His next meeting had been scheduled for 2 weeks after that point. When you announced that you wouldn't touch him - wouldn't even kiss him, wouldn't even hold his hand - until after he'd sat through the whole 2 hours - "and behaved himself," you said, "acted polite," you said - he moved the meeting up as close as he could get it. Still 1 week out. He was going to die.
