Despite its injuries, the dragon doesn’t hesitate to snarl and snap at anyone brave - or stupid - enough to get close to its head. When it growls, the sound is low and rumbling like an earthquake. Its sharp gaze sweeps back and forth between its enemies, baring its teeth, its irises piercing like brilliant jewels -
A jolt of shock goes through Kaveh. His heart, once beating faster than a cicin’s wings, stutters to a stop in his chest.
Those eyes.
He would know them anywhere.
Haitham.
Before he can second-guess what he’s about to do, Kaveh uses all his might to force his way to the edge of the crowd. With what little space he’s given, he leaps from the stone pathway and into the open air, grabbing onto Mehrak’s handle to help slow his fall. Together they plummet a hundred meters in a matter of seconds, ignoring the screams of shock and confusion that erupt from the mob of people they leave behind.

Summary
Kaveh starts a garden, right outside the window his drafting desk faces.
At first, it’s not much. A few sprouts here and there, and a few flowers he managed to convince Tighnari to let him transplant. Tighnari had offered to help, but Kaveh, stubbornly as ever, had refused, saying this was something he needed to do on his own.
(Tighnari has the kindness not to ask if it’s really gardening that’s on Kaveh’s mind.)
In which friends with benefits comes with more issues than benefits. Or, Kaveh learns what it means to fall without guardrails.

In the dream he’s in bed with Alhaitham, and they’re pressed together. There’s something hard at his back, and he rolls his hips, grinding back into it. A broken moan meets his ear, deep and manly, as an arm clamps around his middle. Kaveh continues to roll his hips, continues to push back against that hardness, delighting in the jagged breathing right in his ear from Alhaitham. The arm around him squeezes, and Kaveh keeps up his backwards assault until he hears his name breathed in his ear.

On a random day Kaveh stumbles in a bookshop, immediately taken in by the seemingly indifferent deaf owner. Using his broken Sign Language he somehow manages to steal the heart of Alhaitham, a young bookshop owner who lives alone with his sister. Awkward pining and cuteness ensues. Guess it's time for Kaveh to brush up on his sign language skills.
