"El! Oh my god, is this- Am I- Are we in your void right now?" He asks in awe, moving his feet and hearing the splashing sound echo, even though there's nothing for the soundwaves to hit and ricochet from. He whips his head around, trying to absorb everything, but El grabs both his arms to catch his attention.
"Yes," she confirms their location, "I needed somewhere no one could hear us talk." Dustin furrows his brow in worry. "I need your help," El continues before he can ask why they needed privacy, "I need another plan."
OR
El has one last thing to try before going with Kali's plan: asking Dustin, her smartest friend, to find a better solution that maybe fixes everything. -

"Okay. Okay, you have to promise me," Dustin stresses, "that what I'm about to say does NOT leave this room." He stretches his index finger pointedly towards Lucas. "Specially not Max, and even more so not Mike." Lucas furrows his brow.
"Mike? Why can't Mike know about this?"
"Lucas, you gotta promise, okay?" Dustin interrupted, eyes wide and urgent. "If Mike finds out about this, he's gonna kill me, alright? This is life or death," he gestured emphatically, "and if anyone finds out about this, my life is over, do you understand?"
Or
Dustin thinks having feelings for his best friend's ex is the end of his life. So, he asks Lucas for help to preserve it.
Meanwhile El is suddenly very jealous of the cheer squad, and Max is there just to help her not explode anything with her mind, and no other reason. Stop asking. -

Summary
Once they reached the oak tree that marked the path through the woods to Hopper's cabin, Steve stopped and both El and Dustin stepped out of the car.
"Hey, hey, Dustin!" Both teens turned to him, who was leaning over the passenger seat. "Where are you going?"
Dustin looked at him like he was the weird one for asking. "It's a path in the woods late at night, Steve. She's a girl and she's alone—I'm gonna walk her to her door," he responded, matter-of-fact. Steve raised a crooked eyebrow at him. "Y'know, like a gentleman? Did you forget everything you've taught me?"
Or:
Like a gentleman, Dustin walks Eleven through the path in the woods all the way to Hopper's cabin.

"El, love, light of my life, could you maybe not try to give me a heart attack every time you leave your room?"
Dustin's voice was loud in El's ear, and she couldn't help the giggle she let out hearing his worry. She took a moment to find solid footing, and only answered after, looking down at the scene beneath the building — the robber she'd just caught being put into a police car, the civilians being checked over. Sure, she did get a nasty slash to the shoulder in the fight, but she couldn't leave until she made sure everyone was safe.
"Yeah, sure. If trouble stops following me around," she said, sitting down at the edge of the rooftop, just for a moment. "I'm fine, Dustin."

Summary
The time passes strangely, syrupy slow and fast all at once. Anna doesn’t pour them any more shots, remaining at Elsa’s side, and Kristoff at Jack’s.
Elsa tries to avoid looking at him, but at some point she gives up and stares, telling herself people won’t notice. It’s just the liquor, she tells herself. It’s just the hour, though it truly can’t be that late. She’s just watching him to see how he somehow makes the minuscule ping-pong ball into these ridiculous, cliche red solo cups every single time.
Strangely, she finds herself competitive.
