San had heard a saying, before. Something about being soft enough to hold a bird in your hands and not hurt it, but steady enough to keep it so it didn’t fly away. He didn’t want to be rough, but that was kind of what he’d ended up being, for a while.
He could lie and say he didn’t know what changed it. What had turned his working hands into softer, kinder ones. What had softened him into something malleable enough to be loved. What allowed him to keep that little bird, sitting happily in his palm, deciding on its own that that was where it wanted to stay. That was where it felt safest, most loved.
He’d never managed to keep hold of something so fleeting before.

Wooyoung is lying on his stomach, resting his chin on crossed arms. Bare legs stick out from underneath the blanket, bent at the knees as his feet swing back and forth in the air; he looks at you with the deceptively wide-eyed innocence of a coquettish femme fatale.
“Well? Did you like it?” he presses when you utterly fail to answer.
