Talking unsettled Bruce. But Bruce wasn’t the one who was hurt. Yes, hurting Clark had made him, in turn, hurt, but that didn’t give him the right to ignore the damage he caused on his partner. Bruce wasn’t much for words, but he was much for Clark, so he tried. He took a deep breath, and decided on a mixture of honesty and something else, something he couldn’t place yet.
“Clark, I’m so sorry. I feel very bad. My head is loud in multiple directions.”
“Don’t listen to your head. You don’t need to choose what direction to go. Just answer my questions."
