Summary
Jeno does this thing with his eyes sometimes, when he’s trying to peel Chenle’s layers apart. Chenle can’t figure out if it’s the look in his eyes alone, or the fact that Jeno seems to genuinely want to shove his bare fist deep into Chenle’s chest and poke around the dirt there, but it never fails to trigger his fight or flight instinct. It makes him want to puke up the worst of himself into Jeno’s open lap.
See if he still wants to comb his fingers through Chenle’s hair, after he’s heard the end of it.

“Lucky you,” Jeno says, inching closer at the same time as Chenle props himself up on his elbows. The candy has started to feel sticky in his hand, softened by the warmth of his fingertips, yet he still manages to almost drop it twice while raising it to Chenle’s closed mouth and pressing it to the pout of his lips. “Alright, open up for me.”

A beat passes while Kun stares at Chenle. He’d love to know what’s going on in that big brain, dig a finger around its soft gray matter and see if he’s touched a nerve. It’s a pivotal part of Chenle’s master plan: light up all of Kun’s synapses. But all Kun does is sigh out, “We’re both busy adults now. Things are different. How many cards are in a deck?”
That’s right. Things are different. Chenle has been cheated on, Kun likes boys, and Renjun had a point when he suggested revenge. “Fifty-two,” he says.
