Summary
It’s been four months since Soap found out exactly how bad stims affect him. Four months since the 141 had the worst scare of their life, thanks to a miscommunication of epic proportions.
Four months, and Soap is finally, finally getting his personal space back. (Sort of. Not really. He doesn’t mind all that much.)
Four months, and Simmons is casually talking to him in the mess hall after training with the rooks, mentioning something about their old TO coming back to base, when Price, Ghost, and Gaz all freeze up.
Which is a little weird, because— well, for two reasons. One, because that’s just a weird reaction for the 141 to have in general. and two, because—
—because Soap doesn’t remember ever having this guy as his training officer.

Summary
He couldn't remember the last time touch meant love to him. It must've been some time when he was little, when his mother's hands were still tender and he looked less like his father. As he grew taller and bulkier, and his words grew defensive and harsh, she began to stare straight through him. The last gentle touch he'd ever taken without shivering beneath it was her thin fingers dragging over the bruises mottling his arms, never apologizing but always looking sorry.
His body waited for Soap to grab, to pull, to dig his nails in just because he could — but he didn't. He roamed over Ghost's skin like it was fragile, never lingering on the remnants of a past he'd never spoken of. It was too much. Too Johnny. He wished his shoulders would stop trembling just for a moment so he could feel that sweetness without a lingering sense of dread in his bones.
or: A new recruit triggers a flashback by pinning Ghost down during a sparring match and ignoring his tap out. Panicked, Ghost dislocates his own shoulder to free himself, and Soap has to pick up the pieces while Ghost confronts feelings from his past he thought he'd buried.

Summary
“Hey, Hollander, did you see the news about Rozanov?”
Shane’s head snaps up and he almost gives himself whiplash. It’s deja vu, and it throws him back to that moment last season when Ilya’s father passed and he went MIA. His teammates had speculated, but Shane had known the truth – Ilya’s father had passed and he’d flown back to Russia to take care of family matters.
“No?” He states simply, because he doesn’t trust his tongue to not betray him. What could Ilya possibly have done that would get him on the news?
A phone is passed over, and Shane squints against the light and the tiny font of the news article. In big, bold letters the title reads ‘HOCKEY STAR ILYA ROZANOV SEVERELY INJURED IN CAR CRASH.’ It’s accompanied by a generic picture from the Boston news channel, but Shane doesn’t scroll down any further. He can’t. He doesn’t think his brain is capable of any thoughts currently. The phone drops out of his shaking hand and he realizes belatedly that tears are blurring his vision.
“I gotta go.”

OR, Ilya is in a car accident. Shane hurries to be by his side, and outs them in the process. Set during the year Ilya is playing for Boston.
