Summary
In the full dark, Jon could hear the bedside clock ticking but could not make out the time. It wasn’t just darkness around him; something cold and gray obscured the clock face, and indeed made everything in the room indistinct. His stomach sank with the familiarity of it. The air wasn’t damp, at least, so perhaps the effect was only visual, perhaps it wasn’t really…
“Martin?” he called softly.
In response, he heard only a slow breath, drawn in, held too long, let out reluctantly.

Summary
“Kiss me.”
The words are out of his mouth before he can think and, before he can truly process what he’d uttered, Martin’s entire face has gone a lovely shade of maroon. It’s a bit like an odd little freckled sunset on his face and it’s stupid. Stupid. So stupidly cute. He’s choking, that much Jon can hear, and for a moment, Jon thinks he’s killed him or something drastic like that. Weariness is making him delusional, clearly, because something like that wouldn’t kill someone.
Would it?
