“Hey Jax..” Pomni starts to call out quietly but upon seeing the back of his shoulders tense further she pauses.
Are you okay? She wants to ask.
But her gut tells her that that might not be the best approach with Jax yet. The memory of him hunched over the buttons console in despair, raw and full of hurt comes unbidden.
“...What is this place?” She asks instead, relieved to see that his shoulders slightly sagged down as if in relief.
Jax cracked one eye open and glanced lazily toward the far wall.
“No idea,” he said. “Just another one of those rooms.”

You see, Zooble doesn't know that Gangle is a virgin. They didn’t ask (thank God) and Gangle would sooner march herself down to the cellar and endure voluntary abstraction before ever willingly volunteering that information. But what began as a tiny, teensy-weensy little lie of omission, padded with a show of nonchalance, has now blossomed into a very big problem.
Because, as you now understand, Zooble has invited Gangle back to their room. And, as you will soon find out, for the express purpose of having sex.

Though…considering it had only been a few hours since the fight, It was hard for her to even really imagine it being over—Still standing on the same cliff edge amidst wrecked metal and rock where she made good on the promise to herself that she would assimilate the primary solver host, or die trying.
Uzi Doorman did both.
Alternatively, Uzi kicks Cyn's ass, saves the universe and gets the guy of her dreams. The hard part is everything that comes after.
