“It’s not a confession!” Hitoya groaned, trying to ignore the unpleasant heat he felt consuming his face.
The bell rang, signaling the start of lunch. Still, his classmates lingered, their attention continuing to be occupied on the folded paper in Hitoya’s hand.
“Someone you admire, then?”
Hitoya’s grip on the card tightened until the paper crinkled.
“It must be for Jinguji, right?”

“Rosho asked me out!”
Sasara is pretty sure he could hear Rei sit up straight. “Okay, Sasara, you cannot mess this up, I’ve waited too long for this,” Rei says, sounding awfully invested.

“Hm,” Rei thinks. “What’s the plan?”
“Plan? The plan?” Sasara parrots in disbelief. “He asked me out! What do I do now?!”

Poe blinks once. Then again. “I’m sorry?”

Because who else would Dazai be referring to?
“Yeah, the two of you,” Dazai confirms cheerfully, leaning back until the chair creaked dangerously. “You’ve been together for, what– a year? I was curious how you planned to celebrate.”
Poe could hear his own heartbeat. “We… don’t have an anniversary.”
“Huh,” Dazai hums, tilting his head as if calculating something. Then that sly smile returned. “Why don’t you ask Ranpo about that then?”
