Summary
There’s a small bottle of oil tucked into a corner of the box under Erzsi’s bed that sits in her awareness like a touch, gentle and patient. Sometimes she’ll rifle through the box for a dildo or her strap-on or a vibe and her fingers will brush the glass curves of the bottle and she’ll hesitate, and consider, but then shake her head and continue her search for rope or restraint or toy. It would distract from what she or the others already have in mind, or would be unpleasantly messy, or she simply has a more compelling target at the moment. She’ll grab what she came for and set the box aside and think: Someday, maybe. Yes, someday.
Until a lazy late-spring afternoon, between adventures, between dangers, when she sprawls on the couch with a book that’s not really holding her attention and finds herself warm and wanting, and she thinks of the little bottle and thinks, Yes, please.
