Summary
“I still don’t think you should have thrown me out,” a voice said right next to his ear. Daud whipped around, narrowly avoiding throwing a punch at the person standing too close for comfort.
The man extended his hand. “Corvo. Sorry for the trouble last night.”
Corvo. Daud stared at the guy the name belonged to, who in turn seemed to have no issue staring back. His eyes were adorned by impressive eye bags, there was unshaven stubble on his chin, and unfortunately, he wore it quite well. Daud disliked people who made hangovers look cool, mostly because he had never been one of them. He also disliked people that required him to crane his neck to properly scowl at them (which, to be fair, was about half of the adult population).

Summary
Your kindness is suspicious for I do not deserve it.
---
Corvo hasn’t stopped thinking about the one who killed her. The one who took away his daughter, took over his life, took everything he had. A greedy man he was, the infamous Knife of Dunwall, taking and taking and taking. Come and gone in a flash, the whole city falling apart in his wake, burying Corvo in the rubble. More blood, always more blood. Corvo feels like he'll forever be drowning in it.
Daud hasn’t stopped thinking about the one who tried to save her. The look on the bodyguard‘s face has been burned into his eyes, following him everywhere he goes. Death clings to him with cold hands: Corvo Attano, the ever-stoic Royal Protector, turned into a vicious animal by Daud’s hand. Daud regrets so much it just might kill him. He can’t wait for that day to come.
Their paths cross, then intertwine, and nothing remains as it was.
