Summary
She kept The Magnolia Princess and Other Stories in an untitled file in her computer and the Word documents were titled randomly as idea1 and idea2. She would wait to pitch it to her publisher when it was complete. Her most personal work presented as an idea to add dimension to the fake persona that was her alter pen name.
Her mind set on writing them a happy ending. Neatly with a bow. One they would never achieve or see come to light, but one that was theirs either way.

Summary
“Hey, Helen,” her voice singsongs. Helen stops typing. Her work for the day is done, whatever Madeline has in mind will derail her afternoon and evening plans.
“What?”
“I read that the Sun will one day explode and the Earth will end.”
“Yes.” Technically it’s more complicated than that, but Helen does not understand astrophysics and the most simplistic explanation probably makes the most sense.
“Do you think we’ll die then?” Her blue eyes look terrified. Since they took the potion they don’t think about death or at least not in the way of dying. They think a lot about being immortal, which is directly linked to being unable to die. Will they have an ending?

She is unraveling and her edges are fraying in the wind. All because of a blonde domestic housewife. She wishes she could laugh. Instead she grips the wheel tighter and lays her head on it. Resists the urge to smash it at least five times.
A metaphor of a moth drawn to a flame. Except, Madeline Menville is as powerful as the sun. And Helen burns. Unable to stop herself from being drawn by her radiance.

Summary
The void was hard to describe. The heat of burning up with the planet had seemed unbearable at the time, but it had been a feeling. Fire could emit light, at the very least. And she had burned bright in Madeline's arms, engulfed in solar flames and screams of terror and anguish. Her wife had held her tight with all the force she could muster, trying her hardest to make sure they'd be together. Helen had used every ounce of energy left in her immortal corpse to stick to Madeline, too. But, although their shared love for each other had felt larger than the Sun itself, the collapse of their home, their street, their city, their world had ripped them apart. And, now, Helen's ashes could only float away, unable to cry, unable to scream, unable to die.
Or: what happens when the Sun finally devours the planet, as Helen says.

Summary
Getting ready for the day seems to go by in a blur. It wouldn’t have been so bad if Helen hadn’t left her phone in Madeline’s room last night that had all of her alarms to go off precisely at 8:30am. She felt like she was in a rush the second she woke up, never once having time to fully process what was going on around her. It was the makeup chair, then it was hair but at the same time, her nails were being painted so she could barely get up, let alone use the bathroom without people freaking out.
It’s when she finally has a moment to herself to slip on her shoes does she realize what this moment is and what it’ll become. She was marrying Madeline, in spite of it all, in spite of being at each other’s throats when they met. Madeline, who at first impressions, seemed to be the most performative and self-obsessed person she’s ever encountered. She was loud, peppy, and took up the expanse of every room she walked into. And while those things still remain true to an extent, Helen did eventually get to see what was underneath all those layers of feigned confidence and boisterous personality.
