    “Nope–no you have to keep the pressure on that, Colt–” Jody grabbed his hand, guided it back upward, glancing over his shoulder to see what he was looking at.

    There wasn’t anything of note behind him, just the pavement and a laughing couple stumbling their way around the corner.

    Was he concussed?

    “I’m not Colt,” Colt said, interrupting Jody’s thoughts. He cocked his head to the side, frowned, tried to lower his hand for the third time like he’d already forgotten what he was supposed to be doing. “I’m trying–I need to find Colt. M’not him.”

    Oh, yeah, he was definitely fucking concussed.

     

    (Ryland is concussed, Colt is framed for murder and concussed, and Jody is definitively lost in all the sauce because someone forgot to tell her that Colt has a twin brother.)

    Colt and Ryland led normal lives at first. Colt was a stuntman turned engineer and Ryland gained his PhD at a young age and was adept on molecular biology and chemistry. They were noticed and dragged in by the government for their infamy and intelligence. Forced to be agents, an unstoppable duo, missions became a normal part of their daily life. Colt hated it. Ryland just learned to put up with it. It wasn't until they were given a certain assignment in Dubai that they are slapped with some harsh realities and finally reuniting with an older brother after years of no contact.

    This was originally supposed to be a one-shot for Whumpay 2026, Day 17 (Self-Defence killing/“Does it ever get easier”) but it just kept going and has instead become this!
