Summary
CL: Hi Merlin, it’s Clare. Dr. Yearly is wondering if you think Arthur might be agreeable to some more imaging. Just x-rays this time.
ML: Just x-rays.
CL: yes. No CTs or MRIs.
ML: last time we said just x-rays, we ended up with a cheeky MRI and none of you had to deal with the meltdown that followed. I want it in writing. Only x-rays. Send me a document.
(In which Merlin assumes power of attorney over Arthur's medical decisions when he finally returns from Avalon. It is a logistical nightmare that Merlin handles with exactly that amount of grace he can be expected to.)

Summary
Sam’s right. He just needs to say it. He’s already on the call, he’s already gone too far to look back now, he just needs to say it. Rip the words out like plunging into the depths. The only thing not telling them does is make things worse.
“I tried to kill myself.”
(Though, maybe telling them would make things worse, too.)
Or, Little Blue but Luke lives.

Summary
Sometimes, their acceptance of him is almost a death sentence. Because he tells himself there’s nothing wrong – because they say there’s nothing wrong.
That’s just AJ. We’ve all got our quirks. He’s always been like that.
Maybe that’s why AJ hasn’t tried to explain the clear differences in the way he processes the world compared to everyone else. Because these three friends who have long since earned the title of family have never made a big deal out of it. They joke about it, sure, because they wouldn’t be good friends if they didn’t do that.
(But they worry about him, sometimes. Quietly – like they’re not sure they’re meant to.)
