“Soft items are preferred when it comes to nests, no?”

    “I suppose they are.”

You suppose they are.” Jing Yuan echoes, considers the wording. “Are you not familiar with nesting?”

Luocha narrows his eyes now, sharp eyes directed at Jing Yuan. “And you think you’re in the position to ask that?”

Jing Yuan has an omega imprisoned in his mansion. He has to prepare appropriately, especially when the prisoner's heat is approaching.

    Jing Yuan closed the door.

The light from the hallway shrunk and disappeared, cloaking his room in darkness except for the one flickering candle on the dresser.

He walked over and lightly blew it out.

"I do not understand your need to be so overdramatic." A voice came from the balcony, the curtains rustling in the wind.

"How else am I to prepare for your arrival, Blade?" Jing Yuan pulled the drapes around his bed from its gathers, letting the silk envelop two sides of the bed.

"By taking me into your loving arms," Blade closed the balcony doors behind him and drew the curtains shut. "Or, by apprehending me immediately, oh so revered general."

"Keep the door open. Dan Heng is coming later tonight."

Blade scoffed. "He can manage. He's only visiting us now that the Express is here. But for now…" His boots clicked on the floor, only slightly muffled by the carpet. "It's just us two."

    Summary

Dr. Ratio is trapped in an ever-looping dream where he has garnered the sacred gaze of Nous, following the triumphant launch of his anti-planetary weapon—and has been inducted as the latest member of the Genius Society.

    He hates it.

He wants to blow his brains out with a gun to escape the dream.

    But he can't.

The reason: he meets the Past and Future(?) Aventurines, little Kakavasha and the more outspoken, unfiltered gambler who Ratio only see glimpses of whenever the Aventurine of the waking world is too stressed and mentally weak to hide his own inner demons. Ratio decides to stay in the dream for these two, intending to heal them, and perhaps in the process, mend the man fragmented by these neglected aspects of his psyche.

However, Ratio eventually discovers that the person most in need of healing is, in fact, himself.

“The subject is the last of his species, meow? Isn’t ensuring the continuance of your bloodline a priority, meow?”
“F-first of all, Ratio and I aren’t like that!” Aventurine says. “He barely tolerates me on a good day!"
The pastries blink at him, and then hop away to huddle. “The information recorded in the subject’s database is inaccurate, meow. It says that the members of the subject’s species are known to be socially and emotionally intelligent, but clearly they’re not, meow.”
Aventurine folds his arms. “I can hear you guys, you know.”

The Plan: Identify endangered or extinct species and conduct further research on them to obtain Ruan Mei’s recognition! is underway.

    Summary

Here was the risk that Ratio had been anticipating. He made a move to enter, but beyond the doorless opening he heard a sound.

“Dr. Ros.” It was Aventurine. Ratio suppressed a groan. How could he be so stupid? Didn’t he know that this room was what Eosphoros-I was famous for? He prepared to stride inside and drag whoever was there out to a proper meeting room—

—before he stopped short at the sight of himself.

On a distant planet slated for IPC acquisition, there exists a room designed to extract one’s deepest desires.
