Luffy’s voice slices through the quiet like a pebble tossed into still water. Law doesn’t look at him right away; the boy is staring up at the ceiling, his expression unreadable.
“Do you believe in weird dreams?”
Law’s shoulders stiffen.
“What do you mean?”
“Like…” Luffy turns his head slowly, his dark eyes landing on Law with unsettling clarity. “Dreams that don’t really feel like dreams. More like… blurry memories. Of something that never actually happened.”

For as long as he can remember, Law has been trapped in the same recurring dream, a world of endless seas, pirate ships, and battles beneath blood-red skies. Among the scattered fragments of that dreamscape, there is one constant. Or rather, one person. A flash of light in the shape of a ring. A name that echoes in his mind. He never believed that name belonged to a real person, let alone that he would find him like this: collapsed in the emergency room, unconscious, on the brink of death, and covered in wounds that seem torn straight from Law’s own nightmares.

Summary
“So tell me,” Tsu’tey started once he was settled, following Aonung’s watery gaze. “Neteyam’s departure seems to have affected you greatly. Why is this? Who was Neteyam to you, my boy?”
Aonung swallowed, reluctant to share. Simultaneously, he so desperately wanted to tell someone because no one understood how this impacted him so deeply. Here was Tsu’tey, asking. So despite Aonung’s reservations, he found himself telling.
“I loved him,” he sobbed.
Luckily for Aonung, Neteyam lives.
