He runs.
Up the wooden steps, onto the stage, dropping to his knees where Gunwook has collapsed, coughing blood into the planks.
“Gunwookie,” Matthew whispers, hands shaking as he gathers Gunwook close, cradling his head against his chest as if that alone could keep him alive.
Gunwook looks up at him.
Still smiling.
“I… I won,” Gunwook breathes, voice unsteady. “You don’t have to marry him anymore.”
That’s when Matthew breaks as he nods his head repeatedly.
He clutches Gunwook tighter, pressing his forehead to his guard’s hair, sobbing openly, loud, unrestrained and uncaring of who bears witness.
Because none of them matter.

Matthew whipped his head around then, too, a clueless look on his face, which made Gunwook feel a little guilty he had been thinking such perverted thoughts. “What?” he whispered and the color drained from Gunwook’s face. He watched as his features slowly contorted into a mischievous smirk and Gunwook knew Matthew was about to do something entirely unhinged.
After weeks of busy schedules, Matthew asked Gunwook to watch a movie together and wind down. Gunwook agrees, unaware that Matthew had plans to turn their cute cinema date into something less innocent
