Summary
"You two should try it."
To Mira's humiliation, Rumi recovered first.
"Try what?"
Somewhere along the line, Zoey's bright, sunny grin had taken a sharp turn into mischief; now, with her glass tugging her lower lip down and the tip of her tongue resting on its edge, it was downright predatory.
"Each other."

they say heaven knows the road is slow/lord, how the hell would heaven know/just where am i supposed to go from here/how much longer now before i'm in the clear?
“I’m glad you love your work,” Dr. Song says. “Finding purpose in what you do is a wonderful thing.”
“That’s me, I’m very purposeful,” Rumi agrees. “Very motivated, very dedicated. That’s my whole thing.”
“Your whole thing?” Dr. Song asks. “Do you struggle with work-life balance?”
“Work and life are basically the same thing, anyway. I’m an artist.”
Dr. Song hums contemplatively. “It is always nice, if you hit burnout, to have other avenues to turn to so it does not feel like the end of the world.”
Rumi picks at one of her bandages, begins to unwind it, and then re-winds it. “Funny you should mention the end of the world…”
Rumi goes to therapy. That's the fic. Title from In The Clear by Billy Strings, which is not a song she would listen to, but is one I enjoy.

Summary
Mira is laying on the couch, flipping through something with an indifferent expression. Her long, delicate legs stretch over an armrest; her tongue darts out, licking her lips over and over.
Oh, oh, ooooohhh?
Zoey hops her way, grin cockeyed. “What’cha looking at?” she says, going to peer over her shoulder.
Big mistake.
Zoey had thought her notebook filled with her worst, most desperate ideas was lost forever, but that was merely a fantasy. Naturally, Mira was the one to find it... and find out the final secret she has.

Summary
“Rumi! It is you! How are you alive?” Zoey cheered, and Rumi’s head flipped toward the sound, where Zoey and Mira stood at the other end of the alleyway. Both wore all black, and Mira even had a black sunhat with a veil. Zoey moved to run toward her, but Mira’s arm shot in front, keeping Zoey from getting closer.
“I knew it. I knew it was too good to be true,” Mira said, glaring at her with hate and disgust in her eyes. Exactly the way she looked at… well, demons, but dialed up to higher than ever before. “Zo—patterns. That’s not Rumi.”
--Or--
Pre-reveal Rumi takes a hit while fighting on top of a speeding train car—not from a club, but a sword straight through the chest. That should have been the end, but demons revive in the demon realm when killed. Not even Rumi expected that would apply to her as well.
